Submit Your Nomination for 2011!

The time has come to call for nominations for the 2011 TIME executive! If you would like to nominate for a position please prepare a brief paragraph indicating why you are interested and what experience or skills you could bring to the executive. If you are interested in multiple positions we ask that you prepare a paragraph for each position, and indicate your order of preference. Information about each position is listed below along with the contact details of the current executive if you have any questions. This information will also be available on the TIME website (www.timeuq.org).
Please email your nomination to elections@timeuq.org by 5pm Friday 27 August. It will then be posted on the TIME website for members to read.
The executive will be elected at TIME’s 2010 AGM, at Ballymore Rugby Club on Friday 10 September in conjunction with our Annual Dinner – tickets on sale soon!
TIME 2011 Leaders Meeting
-10:30-12:30 this Saturday 14 August in the Science Learning Centre, Level 2, building 67 (entrance to the Maths building, next to PBL building)
-If you would like to learn more about TIME and how the executive works, we encourage you to come along at St Lucia

Role descriptions:
President
2010 – Arthur Cheung (president@timeuq.org)
  • Provide strategic vision for the ongoing development of TIME in achieving its Mission
  • Ensure integration and co-ordination between the activities of TIME Executive and TIME in general
  • Chair TIME Executive Meetings and TIME General meetings
  • Attend all TIME Executive meetings
  • Represent TIME by liaising with external organizations
  • Be available for, and respond to, correspondence in a timely and professional manner
Vice President
2010 – Sally Faulks (vicepresident@timeuq.org)
  • Facilitate appointment/election of convenors for TIME’s Projects where appropriate
  • Oversee the management of TIME’s Projects, either through direct involvement or delegation to Project Convenors
  • Liaise between Project Convenors and the TIME Executive, communicating issues in both directions
  • Organise the promotion of TIME’s Projects to the general membership and encourage involvement
  • Develop new TIME Projects as appropriate and bring to the TIME Executive for discussion
  • Attend all Executive meetings
  • Be available for, and respond to, correspondence in a timely and professional manner
  • Remain abreast of general TIME issues in preparation for representing the President as needed.
Liaison Officer
2010 – Anthony Yuen (liaison@timeuq.org)
  • Represent TIME in key external organisation
  • A full voting member on behalf of TIME on Australian Medical Students’ Association’s Global Health Network (GHN) which offer equal representation for all 20 global health groups in Australia.
  • Be an active member of the GHN committee, which may include involvement in any one of the elected positions on the GHN.
  • Inform and provide advice to the TIME executive on external matters relevant to TIME.  This can include state, national or international initiatives in representation, advocacy or campaigns relating to global health

Note: this position will be elected at the AGM but the tenure is July 2011 to June 2012.  The tenure of this role will officially begin at the GHN Handover before GHC2011.  The prospective Liaison Officer Elect will act in a handover and supportive role from Jan 2011 to July 2011.

Secretary
2010 – Jessica Phillips-Yelland (secretary@timeuq.org)
  • Manage students seeking TIME membership and payment for membership
  • Schedule Executive and General TIME meetings
  • Coordinate and distribute TIME emails through:
    • TIME membership database, and
    • Compiling of fortnightly newsletter email
    • Messages for UQMS noticeboard
  • Documentation responsibilities:
    • register memberships and manage membership database system
    • take minutes at TIME meetings
    • receive and catalogue official TIME documents
    • review and update the TIME Constitution
  • Regularly check TIME email account
  • Organisation of halfway and end of year newsletter
  • Booking of venues for TIME events and meetings
  • Booking of BBQ and other UQUnion facilities
  • Liaise with James Hudson of UQ Union regarding bookings
  • Attend all Executive meetings
Treasurer
2010 – John De Laat (treasurer@timeuq.org)
  • Prepare budget, the focus guided by what the year’s executive hopes to accomplish
  • Handle all financial transactions, ensuring expenditure and reception of funds is accounted for at all times
  • Ensure all event managers are aware of budget for event and that reimbursement for event is promptly and accurately given
  • Complete audit and financial report
  • Monitor progression of accounts through year and keep executive apprised of how well the year is matching the budget
Sponsorship Officer
2010 – Mohit Bajaj (sponsorship@timeuq.org)
  • Create and update sponsorship prospectus and other documents
  • Promote current TIME-sponsor relationships through
    • Frequent contact with sponsors
    • Production of TIME annual and post-event reports for future executive members
    • Assisting and supporting sponsors at TIME events
  • Research and approach prospective sponsors
  • Supervision of all primary fundraisers for TIME (Beerfest, Trivia Night and Fashion Parade)
  • Regularly check TIME email account
  • Attend all Executive meetings
Past Executive Member
2010 – Tiffany Zigras (pastexec@timeuq.org)
  • Must be an Executive member in the year immediately prior
  • Provide a means of support and sustainability to TIME Executive and initiatives
  • Pass on knowledge and skills required for the successful running of TIME
  • Regularly check TIME email account
  • Attend all Executive meetings
